As someone who has flown to Narita in real life a few times, I wanted to recreate some of my flights in the sim to the book, same parking, same date, weather etc However, I am unable.
Wing Creation's Narita Scenery is severely outdated, the price of this scenery should be heavily lowered because you are not getting an accurate product. Multiple ramps and parking positions are missing, gate numbers are inaccurate and the scenery is missing a lot of real world details. This is not a fully complete product and unfortunately cannot recommend buying it unless the developer releases an update. Considering Narita is a huge hub for international and domestic flights, Wing Creation is the only decent scenery on the market.
To develop such an important airport scenery needs to be continuously supported by it's developer, and making sure customers who bought the product are getting the real world airport layout. It's the developers job to continue to support a scenery accordingly or lower the price consequently.
This was my first Asian airport purchase about 2 years ago, and I still fly in and out of Narita regularly. It's okay, but not spectacular. The buildings are beautiful, however I don't like the over-saturated ground markings and the textures for taxiways, runways and aprons need a lot of polishing to give them the professional feel that we've come to expect from other sceneries.

I feel that the airport looks a bit dead and deserted. It would help a bit if the windows had reflective textures. As it is, it's an improvement over the default model,but there is definitely room for improvement. I bought it on sale, otherwise I would not agree that this is good value for money. Worst scenery ever. VAS is a huge issue with this scenery, and for that I wouldn't recommend buying it.
The scenery itself is ok, far from worth the 35 euro they are charging. I did buy this scenery in hopes is would be worth it, and for me its not. If you ever see it on sale for 15 euro it might be worth it. This is a very excellent scenery made by Wing Creation. Good job. I am a very frequent traveler to this airport, and I have to say that it's a very detail scenery made by Wing Creation.
Don't believe in other negative reviews you see, as I don't have the problems listed by other reviews. FYI, if you have some problem with this scenery, you can head over to their website and download the hotfixes.
Looks great. Runs great and smooth. Feels great. I don't agree with the review written by christiaan frederik bouwens. Neither does it load any longer or shorter than these. Show all categories. By Jordan A review by Marlon Carter. Formerly known as the New Tokyo International Airport, Narita International is the predominant international airport of Japan which handles the vast majority of international air transport.
While Narita may be very popular, it is still the second largest airport after Haneda which now handles the domestic and some international markets. Given the fact that Narita handles the majority of international travel, within the world of Flight Simulation it is quite understandable that having a highly detailed rendition of this airport will have a far greater appeal for those of us who love long haul flying to new destinations.
Given the fact that Wing Creation is based in Tokyo, it is no surprise that they ceased the opportunity to create the highest quality scenery for Narita to date. As far as Narita International is concerned, here is a listing of some of the features we can expect. From the features listed above, it would seem that this scenery product offers some of the basic things we all look for in an airport add-on.
The installation of this product for both P3D and FSX are quite simple and we need not waste anytime delving into the specifics. What may be of greater concern to customers is the documentation that comes along with the product. The manual for RJAA is a 15 page PDF document that nicely outlines the feature of this product and the recommended setting for the best visual experience. Also included in this document is an insightful history of the airport and the numerous changes that has been made over the years.
At the time of the development of this product, many changes were made to the real world Narita that were not captured in this product. In the event of any issues, there is also a FAQ section of the manual that addresses issues such as AI disappearing in the daytime and Jetways not connecting to the aircraft.
For users of DX10, please keep in mind that it is not recommended that DX10 be used with this product since some default library parts may disappear at night time. Ultimately, the documentation provided in this product is sufficient and it is written in a manner that is easy to understand. At first glance it was quite evident that a significant amount of research when into the development of this airport. The layout of the airport is very detailed and it sufficiently represents the terminals and surrounding buildings at the time that this product was developed.
For example, there is no animation for the shuttle system and there are a few missing details in the taxiways and Cargo 5 and LCC terminal. If you are familiar with the present day Narita, you will also notice that the new terminal 3 and the relevant taxiway and apron changes are also missing. While this may seem to be a shortcoming of this product, it is quite understandable that keeping up with airport development can be a challenge that requires compromise.

At this sort of price, sales may well mainly be confined to simmers who live in Japan or particularly want to fly in this area, with the rest of us shunning it.
Developers need to take lessons from the financially very successful low-cost airlines who charge low fares and sell huge numbers of tickets, generating profits from the sheer number of sales.
If developers like Wing Creation cut their profit margin somewhat and charged a price comparable to most existing developers then IMO they could sell much larger numbers of addons and perhaps make even bigger profits at the end of the day. I certainly like having good quality major airports dotted here and there around the world that I can fly to but I am not willing to pay these sort of prices for each one.
This is a somewhat worrying trend. Bill, I can only offer that your conclusions regarding how lowering prices increases sales is woefully wrong. In this niche market that has almost zero impact in the long run.
You see a small increase in sales and a major loss in profit because the profit margin for this stuff is really not that large. Ed Wilson.
